Camp Concert

Tonight we held our camp concert and they were very well thought out and show-cased many talents. Some were even very funny. The serious imitation of animals (like the chicken and cow )in the charade game had everyone laughing lots. The girls were big on camp idol singing and dancing. Have a look at the pictures...

Hi from Camp

Camp was really fun and I really enjoyed orienteering, bush walking and mountain biking. I enjoyed bush walking the most because we learnt about hypothermia and how to build a proper shelter. Thanks mum and dad for reading our blog, see you tomorrow.

Camp COOK

Mrs Thoms makes real delicious food and we went back for seconds. Thomas and Connan had the most. Mr Morgan also makes the best mashed potatoes. The peas came out really late last night and we are not sure who to blame, Mr Morgan or Mrs Thoms for not turning them on. Here is a photo of her in action reheating tonights tea so not much can go wrong.

Cemetery Study

Today we went to the cemetery to look at the history and do some artworks too..I think the oldest one was a grave from 1862. Some people were feeling scared at first but at the end everyone thought it wasn't too bad at all. Some people wanted to stay there for longer but we had to bet back to pactice to get back for the camp concert rehearsals... it was a realy peaceful an quite place.

Mountain Biking at Hanmer

Group 2 went mountain biking this morning. We went through the forest and went up some hills. Some of the hills we were going down were steep and some of us nearly crashed into trees. It was EXTREME fun and you can get very messy. It was so scary but really fun. Mrs. Thoms and Mr. Morgan went with us today and they DID NOT fall.
We would all like to try again one day...

Happy Birthday Dorina

Dorina celebrated her 10th birthday today. We had a green birthday cake with a tiger on it for supper. It was all so exciting that we took a photo on a strange camera that doesn't fit our computer (owned by Mrs Thoms) so we took a photo of the photo. Enjoy!!

Bush Craft

Today Group B learnt some bush skills. Our instuctors name is Ricky. The first thing we learnt was some signs of hypothermia.

Then we went for a walk through the bush and Kevin and I crossed a log bridge.

After that we built shelter with tarpaulin and some othe bushes.

Mountain Biking

While we were mountain biking, there were a lot of hlls and bumps. We got really muddy and dirty. There were a lot of slips and spills in the activity like falling off bikes, flying into bushes and people crashing into others.

This is a photo of me coming down a hill.It was awesome.

Orienteering at Hanmer Forest

This morning we went in the forest and we went to learn orienteering.Jimmy from Hanmer Springs told us what to do and he bougt some compasses with him and watches for timing. He also bought some maps of the forest.

For the orienteering Kasanita told me to follow Tapita. This wasn't a good idea because we got lost in the forest for one hour. It was really hard to find the way because Tapita joined up with another group.

Our team lost the game and we got the second lowest of 180 points. Connan and Nikau's group got 460 points. It was nice and I want to do it again.

Today was so much fun. When we got here we all went to our cabins. I started to unpack. thomas got to have the big bed all tro hiself. I took the top bunk Billie took the bottom bunk under me and Connan took the bottom bunk on the otherside. After we finished unpacking we went to the Hanmer Pools. Firstly we all went to the cold pool.

Day 1 at Hanmer Springs

Today we arrived at Hanmer Springs and it was a real long trip.Everyone was so excited to see our cabins. We were having too much fun inside that we forgot to change into our swimming togs. The bus was going to take us to the thermal pools so everyone got on the bus and "WAY WE GO"! We arrived at the thermal pools and we hopped on with no problems. "IT WAS REALLY FUN"!
